Introduction Continuity Sequence

For this task we had to make a continuity sequence using the skills we have learned in our introduction. These skill were such things as, camera angles, sound, camera movement, the continuity system such as match on action and the 180 degree rule. we also had a very low budget. In this short film we aimed to used mise-en-scene and connotations to create a deal clip. We used such this as black clothing and suspicious bags to create this feeling. We had to film at least 5 close ups, shot reverse shot and a establishing shot without breaking the 180 degree rule.  We cut out the natural sound and used a tense track to create suspense. We also used natural lighting to keep it realistic. When we were filming we always made sure that you could never see in the case to keep the sense of suspicion.

 

Next time I hope to use more camera angles and costumes, I feel this short video also is very quick cutting and we could of shot some of the scenes for longer or shoot some filling shots. because we are limited to filming at the college, we tried to set the scene location of an american high school by using the lockers as a background in the hall. Next time I would like to use the setting of a forest/woods to really set a suspense felling.
